Once again, a vintage full of surprises and surprises. Our elders used to say that the sun in September made for a good vintage, but this year it was the rain in August that saved ours! The mild, dry spring brought out many bunches of grapes - it has to be said that last year's frost caused a compensatory phenomenon, while the rapidly hot, very dry summer created a degree of stress that almost proved fatal for us. Fortunately, the life-saving rains of 15 August penetrated deep into the soil and gave the plant renewed vigour.
This is unquestionably an early vintage: some of the white plots were harvested as early as 23 August, and the harvest was completed on 20 September, 4 weeks after the first pruning. The reds are fairly dense, very aromatic and already remarkably accessible. The whites are also very aromatic and intense. In fact, despite the heat and the earliness of this vintage, the degrees remained in line with the wines of the region, between 13° and 13.5°, and this 2022 will remain a balanced wine.
